DLEAG NAB TWENTY-ONE (21) PEOPLE AT DIVERSE LOCATIONS ACROSS THE COUNTRY

As the Agency intensifies its operational regime aimed at abating the drug situation in the country, operatives of the Drug Law Enforcement Agency, The Gambia (DLEAG) took into custody twenty-one (21) people arrested at diverse locations for drug-related offences from the 16th to the 21st April 2025. All the accused persons are males and Gambians as well.

Eight (8) of the accused persons were arrested within the West Coast region, four (4) were arrested within the Kanifing Municipality, five (5) within the Lower River Region, two (2) within North Bank Region, and two (2) within Upper River Region, respectively.

CASES FROM THE WEST COAST REGION

24 years old Lamin Jallow, a resident of Farato and a labourer by profession, was arrested at Farato on the 16th April 2025 at around 13:50 hours GMT onwards with (14) pieces of suspected cannabis sativa concealed in a transparent plastic bag and a black nylon bag respectively.

35 years old, Muhammed Drammeh, a resident of Old Yundum, was arrested at Bundung, Kanifing Municipality on the 20th April 2025 at around 13:10 hours GMT onwards with (1) bundle and (66) wraps of suspected cannabis sativa concealed in white papers, cement paper, and a multi coloured bag respectively.

39 years old Yaya Tamba, a resident of New Yundum was arrested at New Yundum, West Coast Region, on the 18th April 2025 at around 02:15 hours GMT onwards with (3) bundles of suspected cannabis sativa concealed in red and black coloured bag and inside an empty flour bag while under his bed respectively.

34 years old Assan Camara, a resident of Tintinto Brufut, was arrested in Brufut, West Coast Region on the 19th April 2025 at around 17:20 hours GMT onwards with (4) bundles of suspected cannabis sativa concealed in cement paper and a black bag respectively.

29 years old Momodou Badjie a resident of Nema Kunku was arrested at Brikama, West Coast Region was arrested on the 20th April 2025 at around 03:40 hours GMT onwards with (8) wraps of suspected cannabis sativa, (2) stones and (1) piece of suspected cannabis resin and (4) pills of ecstasy concealed in white papers, plastic bag and multi coloured nylon bag respectively.

36 years old Mbaye Manneh, a resident of Darsilameh, was arrested at Mandaur, West Coast Region on the 20th April 2025 at around 10:40 hours GMT onwards with (2) bundles and some quantities of suspected cannabis sativa concealed in cement papers, multi coloured bags and with a black coloured motorcycle with registration number MC WCR 1728 B.

22-year-old Victor Jatta, a resident of Kartong, was arrested at Brikama, West Coast Region on the 21st April 2025 at around 19:07 hours GMT onwards with (1) bundle and some quantities of suspected cannabis sativa concealed in a cement paper, red coloured bag and with a motorcycle with registration number MC GAFCCU 77.

CASES FROM KANIFING MUNICIPALITY

43 years old Lamin John, a resident of Kanifing South, was arrested at Kanifing, Kanifing Municipality on the 19th April 2025 at around 17:25 hours GMT onwards with (20) wraps of suspected cannabis sativa concealed in white papers and transparent nylon bag respectively.

27 years old Musa Touray, a resident of Kerr-sering and a businessman, was arrested at Kerr-sering Kanifing Municipality on the 19th April 2025 at around 01:10 hours GMT onwards with (4) plastic bags of suspected cannabis ruderalis (skunk) concealed in black plastic bag.

34 years old Falang Samateh, a resident of Bakoteh, was arrested at Ali Baba restaurant, Brusubi West Coast Region on the 19th April 2025 at around 22:45 hours GMT onwards with (11) wraps of suspected cannabis sativa and (5) pieces of suspected cannabis resin concealed in white paper, transparent nylon bag, and inside the pocket of his white jacket respectively.

23 years old Foday Langleg, a resident of Tabokoto, was arrested at Kotu on the 20th April 2025 at around 02:30 hours GMT onwards with (18) pills of ecstasy concealed in transparent nylon bag.

27 years old Mbye Njie, a resident of Dippa Kunda and a tailor by profession, was arrested at Kololi (Kaddy Kaddy) on the 20th April 2025 at around 14:30 hours GMT onwards with (11) wraps of suspected cannabis sativa and (33) pieces of suspected cannabis resin concealed in white papers, transparent nylon bag, black socks, and green plastic bag respectively.

CASES FROM NORTH BANK REGION

72 years old Mbye Njie, a resident of Ndungu Kebbeh and a farmer by profession, was arrested at Ndungu Kebbeh North Bank Region on the 16th April 2025 at around 22:40 hours GMT onwards with (10) bundles of suspected cannabis sativa concealed in cement papers, multi coloured nylon bags and empty flour bags respectively.

18 years old Muhammed Njie a resident of Ndungu Kebbeh and a Tailor by profession, was arrested at Ndungu Kebbeh North Bank Region on the 16th April 2025 at around 22:40 hours GMT onwards with (4) wraps and (3) smoking joints concealed in white papers and small blue bag respectively.

CASES FROM LOWER RIVER REGION

22-year-old Ebrima Colley of Bondali, Bakary Badjie of Sintet (at-large), 18 years old Ismaila Badjie of Kalagi, and Abdoulie(at-large) were both arrested at Kwinella, Lower River Region on the 17th April 2025 at around 00:27 hours GMT onwards with (4) bundles of suspected cannabis sativa and (3) stones of suspected cannabis resin concealed in cement paper, plastic bag, and placed inside an empty bag of rice with a black and blue motorcycle with no registration numbers.

21 years old Ousman Saidy, a resident of Jarra Soma, was arrested at Soma Sateba, Lower River Region on the 19th April 2025 at around 22:00 hours GMT onwards with (55) wraps of suspected cannabis resin concealed in foil paper, transparent plastic bag empty cigarette packet respectively.

CASES FROM UPPER RIVER REGION

22-year-old Momodou Boye Sanneh, a resident of Basse Layout, was arrested at Basse on the 21st April 2025 at around 19:45 hours GMT onwards with 916) wraps of suspected cannabis sativa concealed in white paper and inside a green plastic bag respectively.

In a similar engagement operatives of Basse on the 19th April 2025 at around 22:30 hours GMT onwards found (1) bundle of suspected cannabis sativa concealed in cement paper and inside a black bag with a blue motorcycle marked TVS with registration number MC WCR 7857 A with no documents but a manhunt is on to find the culprit.

All the suspects are currently in custody while further investigations continue.
